The Inaugural Troon Royal Greens Pro-Am Has Been Announced for 2021

The inaugural Troon Royal Greens Pro-Am has been announced for 2021, supported by Golf Saudi.

Royal Greens Golf and Country Club will host the first Troon Royal Greens Pro-Am from 15th – 18th February 2021 in Saudi Arabia. Attracting professional and amateur golfers to experience the home of championship golf in Saudi Arabia, the event will offer players four rounds of golf on the exceptional 18-hole course which is home to the Saudi International, a European Tour event. The 4-day event package also includes 5-nights accommodation at the Bay La Sun hotel, full use of the golf academy and practice facilities during the tournament and prizes sponsored by Callaway. Not to mention luxurious hospitality, a Welcome Reception and Gala Dinner to close out a fantastic tournament experience.

Director of Golf at Troon Royal Greens Golf & Country Club, Ben Stimson commented: “We are very excited to partner with CPG in showcasing the inaugural Troon Royal Greens Pro-Am supported by Golf Saudi.  Following the recent successes of the Troon Abu Dhabi Pro-Am, we feel that now is the perfect time to stage our very own Pro-Am at the award-winning Royal Greens Golf & Country Club.  We have now hosted 2 Saudi International, European Tour events and the feedback from players has been incredible.  The golf course, designed by Dave Sampson of European Golf Design is exquisite, and whilst it provides a real challenge with the prevailing wind from the red sea, it is an exciting golf course with many birdie opportunities for professionals & amateurs alike.  Furthermore, Royal Greens Golf & Country Club was voted the World’s Best Golf Clubhouse in 2019 and our facilities are second to none.  Our dining experiences for the Pro-Am will be sensational and we cannot wait to showcase this to the world.

We will utilize our Troon Golf expertise to coordinate an extraordinary Pro-Am that will include an exceptionally run event with incredible playing surfaces.  Professionals and amateurs will follow in the footsteps of the world’s best including Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka & Phil Mickelson, only 1 week after the 2021 Saudi International, and this is arguably the main attraction.  We have also partnered with our KAEC hotels which offer luxurious accommodation and located only 7 minutes from the golf club.  We have arranged personal transfers to and from the airport along with daily transfers to and from the golf club which will also add a touch of class for the event.

Ultimately, we are growing the game of golf in Saudi Arabia.  Golf is a very new sport in the kingdom and providing a Pro-Am for international professionals and amateurs to be a part of, will certainly help to grow the tourism segment and the longer-term strategy of golf in Saudi Arabia.”.
