Team Troon on Tour: Top 25 finishes or better for 4 Team Troon Members, plus its PGA Championship Week!

Happy Major Week to the World of Troon,

That’s right… its PGA Championship week and Team Troon is fired up to play well and get the W at Kiawah. But before we get into this week, we first must cover what was an exciting week for Team Troon!

PGA TOUR

The PGA Tour was in Texas for the AT&T Byron Nelson. Two Team Troon members played well and finished within the Top 25…Matt Kuchar led Team Troon with a -16 four round total netting him a  T17 finish. Alex Noren had a solid finish (one shot back of Matt)to finish T21. Noren would be at the top of the leader board after opening rounds of 65-64, but Sunday conditions were tough (as a storm blew into the region), creating some challenging conditions for the final round. Regardless, great job Matt and Alex! Complete details are below:

  • T17 Matt Kuchar: 67-66-66-73: -16
  • T21 Alex Noren: 65-64-70-74: -15

PGA CHAMPIONS TOUR

Colin Montgomerie would put together some stellar play on the weekend at the Mitsubishi Electric Classic to finish at -5 and in 10th place, five shy of eventual winner Dicky Pride. Good playing Colin!

  • T10 Colin Montgomerie: 73-69-69: -5

LPGA SYMETRA CLASSIC

Cheyenne Woods and her “all Troon” bag was teeing it up in the Symetra Classic in North Carolina. She strung together rounds of 74-71-71 to finish T17, even, six shots shy of the title/winner. Well done Cheyenne!

  • T17 Cheyenne Woods – 74-71-71: Even

Also, Congrats is in order to Cheyenne, who was the medalist at the US Women’s Open qualifying by five shots! The story of her qualifying victory reinforces that you can never give up in this game: A wrong ball penalty on the 7th hole resulted in a two shot penalty and double bogey. For most of us that may be deflating. For her, it fired her up and prompted her to play some inspiring golf. Her two round total of 2 under was five better than her next competitor. A cool read/story on her day was shared by Golfweek CLICK HERE Congrats Cheyenne! We can’t wait to root you on at the US Women’s Open!

Coming up this “Major” week:

Shareable

Keep an eye out for Matt Fitzpatrick this week. He will be rocking a PGA of America “inspired” bag in white/blue/gold. Under the Troon logo on the side we included: Troon #1 Employer of P.G.A. Professionals. Yes, for those that don’t know it, Troon and Troon affiliated brands make up the largest employer of PGA Professionals! Thank you to all of the PGA Professionals in our family who work so hard to grow the game, grow the businesses of our clients and grow the strength of our brands.

Following her medalist finish last week, Cheyenne Woods dropped this Instagram post to her 156K Followers and tagged Troon (as well as her other partners). Thank you Cheyenne and congrats again on qualifying for the US Women’s Open!
