Team Troon - Matt Fitzpatrick, Justin Thomas, Gary Woodland, Yealimi Noh, Matt Kuchar, Alex Noren, Bubba Watson, Cheyenne Woods & Colin Montgomerie

PGA TOUR- Wyndham Championship

This past week, the PGATOUR regular season wrapped up at the Wyndham Championship, in Greensboro North Carolina. This event is especially important because it is the last opportunity on tour to get into the Top 70 on FedEx Cup points and qualify for the FedEx Cup playoffs. It was big week for those trying to reach the playoffs. Not to mention many Team Troon members played well and gave it their all…including Justin Thomas who’s final chip on 18  (to make birdie and advance) hit the flagstick but did not fall. Thomas would finish 12th as Low Team Troon member followed by Gary Woodland at 27th then Matt Kuchar and Alex Noren at T38.

It was a great seeing so many Team Troon members score under par as well as all landed within the top 40 at the Wyndham.

  • T12 Justin Thomas: 70-65-66-68 = 269 / -11
  • T27 Gary Woodland: 70-67-67-69 = 273 / -7
  • T38 Matt Kuchar: 69-67-71-68 = 275 / -5
  • T38 Alex Noren: 72-66-68-69 = 275 / -5

COMING UP

It is officially FedEx Cup Playoffs time! Two Team Troon members, Matt Fitzpatrick (36th spot) and Matt Kuchar (60th spot) made it into the playoffs and will be playing in the FedEx St. Jude Championship this week. The event is going to be held at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee.  Troon Investor/Supporter Rory McIlroy will also be in the playoffs and is going in ranked the 3rd spot. Go Matt! Go Matt! Go Rory!

PGA Champions Tour-Boeing Classic

The PGA Champions Tour is playing in east Seattle this week in the Boeing Classic. Colin Montgomerie is in the field and is looking to build upon his 20th position in the Charles Schwab Cup Points List. Play well this week Colin!

From the Week Prior:

PGA TOUR-3M Open

After an overseas stretch the second to last stop before the FedEx Cup was the 3M open at TPC Twin Cities in Minneapolis. Alex Noren and Matt Kuchar both played great all week, finishing top 30 and every round under par. It was Noren who finished in the top 15 by making 19 birdies that week including a  bogey free second round. Solid playing Alex and Matt!

  • T13 Alex Noren: 71-66-68-66 = 271 / -13
  • T27 Matt Kuchar : 67-69-70-70 = 276 / -8

Champions Tour-Senior Open

The week prior also had the PGA Champions overseas for the Senior Open Championship. The event was held at Royal Porthcrawl Golf Club which the club dates back to 1891 in Porthcrawl, Wales, UK. Team Troon member Colin Montgomerie played well but it was weather conditions that made the final round challenging for many players in the field. Colin would finish T68 which would sustain his position at #20 on the Charles Schwab Cup points list.

  • 68 Colin Montgomerie: 72-70-76-88 = 306 / +22

Have a great week and Go Team Troon!
