Team Troon On Tour: Thomas with a T10 Finish at Travelers Championship

PGA TOUR- Travelers Championship

Coming off the US Open, the PGA TOUR crossed the country and landed at TPC River Highlands in Connecticut for the Travelers Championship. Not all of Team Troon competing this week but it was Justin Thomas who led the charged and played some very good golf. Thomas carded 9 birdies during his second and third round of the event to shoot a 31-31=62 on Saturdays round. Gary Woodland was next low Team Troon member with a T33 finish and Matt Fitzpatrick would finish within the top 50 as well. Both scoring low under par and averaging rounds in the 60’s all week.

Team Troon results as follows;

• T9 Justin Thomas: 70-64-62-67 = 263 / -17
• T33 Gary Woodland: 69-65-68-67 = 269 / -11
• T49 Matt Fitzpatrick: 67-67-70-68 = 272 / -8

PGA CHAMPIONS TOUR-

The PGA Champions Tour is heading to Robert Trent Jones Jr. design,  Sentry World Golf Course in Stevens Point, WI for one of the five Majors on the Champions Tour, the US Senior Open. Fun Fact: In 2014, It was Team Troon member Colin Montgomerie finished the tournament -5 and went on to win the event back  in a playoff against Gene Sauers. This championship win marked Montgomerie’s second major championship on the PGA Champions Tour as in 2014 he claimed his first major at the Senior PGA Championship and months later winning the US Senior Open. Go low this week Colin!
