Team Troon On Tour: Thomas Leads Team Troon With A T6 At JP McManus Pro-Am

Welcome to a Tuesday edition of Team Troon on Tour. Tuesday by design, in that the JP McManus Pro Am just concluded today at Adare Manor Hotel & Golf Resort in  Limerick, Ireland. Played on what will be the venue for the 2027 Ryder Cup, the star studded field included professionals competing in a 36-hole stroke play tournament, concurrently with a four person pro-am team format. The primary purpose of the JP McManus Pro-Am is to raise money for charitable organizations primarily in the mid-west region of Ireland. It was reported that to date, over €140 million has been raised even prior to this year’s sold out event. Team Troon was well represented in Ireland with Justin Thomas, Matt Fitzpatrick and Alex Noren in the field. 2022 PGA Champion Justin Thomas would lead Team Troon with a T6 finish at -5 (tied with Troon investor/support Rory McIlroy). Alex Noren would finish T27 and recent U.S. Open Champion Matt Fitzpatrick would finish at T39. Complete Team Troon results are below:

• T27 Alex Noren: 74-71 = 145 / +1
• T39 Matt Fitzpatrick: 78-73 = 151 / +7

PGA TOUR Champions

In the most recent PGA TOUR Champions tour event, Colin Montgomerie, and his all Troon bag, was seen stalking the fairways of Saucon Valley CC for the U.S. Senior Open. Colin finished within the top 30 for a T28 finish. Solid playing Colin.

In the week prior to the 150^th Open Championship at St. Andrews, many PGA TOUR players are in the field for the DP World Tour Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland. That trend holds true for Team Troon as well with Justin Thomas, Matt Fitzpatrick, Gary Woodland, Alex Noren and Matt Kuchar all in the field. As July and Troon Family Golf Month has begun, we take a moment to thank the World of Troon for your ongoing support to amplify our grow the game efforts around Troon Women’s Golf Month in the prior month.
