Team Troon on Tour – “Masters Edition”

Even though it felt a bit weird (and it got off to a late start due to weather), the November edition of The Masters did not disappoint. The #1 player in the world, Dustin Johnson, took it wire to wire to win his first green jacket in record setting fashion (a record -20 under and 5 shot victory). This certainly was a dominating performance by world #1.

Team Troon was in the hunt for this Fall edition of The Masters… especially early in the week. Justin Thomas got off to one of his best starts ever at Augusta National. After shooting 66-69, Justin Thomas shared the lead with Johnson and John Rahm. That point in the tournament was also record setting in that it was the first time where the world number 1, 2 and 3 shared a lead after 36 holes. JT would fall just short on the weekend and finish with T4 after weekend rounds of 71-70. Patrick Cantlay also got off to a strong start and was on the first page of the leaderboard after two rounds. Cantlay would finish within the Top 20 at T17 with a four round total of -7.

  • T4 Justin Thomas: -12
  • T17 Patrick Cantlay: -7
  • T46 Matt Fitzpatrick: +1
