The Masters

It yet another great Masters at storied Augusta National Golf Club. We had three Team Troon members in the field and had two that persevered through challenging conditions to play into the weekend. Low Team Troon member was  Matt Fitzpatrick who was boasting a special August themed golf bag for the week.  Along with his bag, came some solid golf all week despite the aforementioned tough conditions. Matt Fitzpatrick started the major with a solid opening round of -1 that was thanks to his birdie run on holes 11, 12, and 13. Fitzpatrick would finish T22 for the event. Erik van Rooyen was the other Team Troon member who made the cut this week who also had a great opening round of -1…ultimately finishing T55.

  • T22 Matt Fitzpatrick: 71-73-73-75 = 292 / +4
  • T55 Erik van Rooyen: 71-76-78-76 = 301 / +13

From the week prior…

 PGA TOUR – Valero Texas Open

Leading up to the Masters , Matt Fitzpatrick and Alex Noren both landed in the Top 15 at the Valero Texas Open. Matt Fitzpatrick went bogey free on his back nine in rounds three and four and his strong finish marked his second top ten this 2024 season. Alex Noren received some great TV time that week with his solid playing at the Valero as he nearly made an albatross during his third round and drained a 37-foot birdie during his final round. This marks Noren’s fifth Top 25 for the season.

  • T10 Matt Fitzpatrick: 71-74-70-67 = 282 / -6
  • T14 Alex Noren: 73-72-66-72 = 283 / -5

PGA TOUR – RBC Heritage

The RBC Heritage is here again and will take place at Harbour Town Golf Links in South Carolina. Team Troon members in the field (of this signature event) include defending champion Matt Fitzpatrick, Justin Thomas and Erik van Rooyen. We all remember last year’s fantastic win by Team Troon member Matt Fitzpatrick and his stunning finish! After finishing his fourth round at -17, he entered a playoff Jordan Spieth. Fitzpatrick would prevail in the 3-hole playoff, and where Matt carded a epic birdie to win the title. His post round posts featured the Troon bag prominently!
