Team Troon on Tour: A Post, Current AND Pre Major Week for Team Troon

Team Troon continued with another busy week…this one being on that was a combo “Post/Current/Pre Major week” on the PGA, PGA Champions and LPGA Tour, respectfully. On the PGA Tour we had Justin Thomas, Gary Woodland and Matt Kuchar playing in the “post major:” the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club (coming off of the PGA Championship). Colin Montgomerie was participating in the second major on the PGA Champions Tour in the PGA Senior Championship at Southern Hills in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Cheyenne Woods, is prepping for a major, this week’s US Women’s Open at the Olympic Club in San Francisco, California.

On the PGA TOUR

Low Team Troon member in the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club was Gary Woodland who finished T14 at -5, followed by Justin Thomas who came in at T40 and then Matt Kuchar at T50. Complete results follow:

  • T14 Gary Woodland 70-69-69-67: -5
  • T40 Justin Thomas 72-66-71-69: -2
  • T50 Matt Kuchar 74-67-69-70: Even

 PGA Champions Tour

As stated above, it was “Major week” for the PGA Champions Tour and Colin Montgomerie was competing amongst a strong field in the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Congrats again to Troon SVP and PGA of America President in Jim Richerson (and the entirety of the PGA of America) on the second “major” in consecutive weeks. Colin unfortunately missed weekend play by just two shots shooting 73-76 (two shy of the +7 cut line).

LPGA Tour

Its Major week for the LPGA Tour and Cheyenne Woods is in the field at Olympic. As shared in the 5/17 Team Troon on Tour, Cheyenne was the medalist at the Spring Lake, New Jersey US Open qualifying, where she overcame an early first round double to win the qualifier going away. PGA Tour

The PGA Tour moves from Texas up to Ohio for Jack’s tournament in The Memorial. All PGA Tour Team Troon ambassadors are in the field including:

  • Gary Woodland
