TROON LAUNCHES THE BAY CLUB ACADEMY POWERED BY TROON

Troon’s Global Director of Education and Coaching Tim Mahoney

Troon has launched The Bay Club Academy Powered by Troon at three Bay Club golf properties in California, including StoneTree Golf Club in Novato, Boulder Ridge Golf Club in San Jose and Fairbanks Ranch Country Club in Rancho Santa Fe. The Bay Club Academy Powered by Troon is a program dedicated to player improvement and advancement, allowing for players of all levels and ages to engage in the game and further develop their skills through the use of technology and golf-specific physical fitness. The Bay Club Academy program was created by Troon’s Global Director of Education and Coaching Tim Mahoney.

“I am excited by the opportunity to develop the Bay Club Academy,” said Mahoney, a Golf Digest Top 100 Instructor.  “I believe that bridging the gap between fitness and the golf course is essential to the future of golf. Incorporating golf-specific physical fitness, strength and mobility training, with an active golf lifestyle will allow Bay Club members to play better, play longer, play pain-free, and ultimately have more fun.”

In addition to golf-specific physical fitness, strength and mobility training, the Bay Club Academy will incorporate technology enhanced player development. Trackman technology, including on-range monitors and iPads will be used for stat tracking and game improvement. Instructors will also utilize Huddle cloud-based technology for sharing information with members and students.

The Bay Club portfolio encompasses a collection of 26 properties across nine active lifestyle campuses in California and Oregon focused on fitness, sports, family and hospitality. Members of Bay Club enjoy a range of high-end lifestyle amenities typically only found at country clubs and luxury resorts. Founded in 1977, Bay Club is recognized as the pioneer of the urban sports resort. Currently, three Bay Club campuses offer golf as a member amenity. In addition to playing award-winning golf courses, members can enjoy casual pre- and post-round dining, regular member-only tournaments and events, professional instruction, practice facility access, and resort-style clubhouses.
