TROON GOLF WINS INAUGURAL GOLF INC. GREEN AWARD
Scottsdale, Ariz. – Troon Golf,® the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing is pleased to announce it has been selected as the winner of the inaugural Golf Inc. “Green Award” in the companies and associations category. The award recognizes Troon Golf’s efforts for outstanding development, management and leadership in implementing the new Troon Golf Environmental Management Initiative (EMI), which embraces environmental sustainability.
Golf Inc. will officially honor Troon Golf on September 29, 2008 at the Green Awards Night. The event will officially kick off the 2008 Golf Inc. Conference held at the Camelback Inn, located in Scottsdale, Ariz. Troon Golf is also highlighted in a special feature story in the September 2008 issue of Golf Inc. magazine.

The results were determined by an esteemed panel of judges who reviewed entry forms submitted by more than 50 courses, companies and products. These judges included Michael Hurdzan of Hurdzan-Fry Golf Course Design, Greg Lyman of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, and John Crowder of ValleyCrest Golf Course Maintenance.
Troon Golf EMI is the golf industry’s first unified plan for environmental stewardship. The voluntary initiative combines a robust set of policies and procedures by combining three distinguished environmental programs together. These programs include the Troon Golf Environmental Management System (EMS), the company’s long-established Troon Agronomy Standards, and the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses.
