TROON GOLF JOINS FORCES WITH THE INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED FIRST TEE ORGANIZATION
Scottsdale, Ariz. – Troon Golf,® the world leader in luxury golf management, development, and marketing is excited to announce its support of The First Tee,® a World Golf Foundation initiative, for 2004. This junior golf initiative is dedicated to providing young people of all backgrounds an opportunity to develop valuable life skills through the game of golf. In addition to fundraising efforts, Troon Golf will take on an active role in mentoring youngsters who express an interest in pursuing a career in the golf industry.
The First Tee program articulates life-enhancing values such as honesty, integrity, and sportsmanship. Its mission is to offer children, who might not otherwise experience golf, new opportunities to improve their quality of life and increase their potential for success.
Beginning January 1, 2004, Troon Golf and its facilities are launching a yearlong initiative to raise funds to benefit The First Tee’s Best Practices Grant Program. Each facility will participate by hosting individual fundraising events throughout the year specifically intended to raise money for The First Tee. The recipients of the grant monies will be those Chapters of The First Tee that clearly demonstrate best practices, and go “above and beyond” improving Chapter operations and procedures. In addition, specially designed hat clips bearing The First Tee logo will be on sale in each Troon golf shop. Proceeds will go directly to The First Tee.
“Troon Golf is proud to support such a premier organization as The First Tee,” notes Troon Golf President and Chief Operating Officer, Hud Hinton. “We hope our fundraising efforts for The First Tee will be able to expose more junior golfers to the game, and Troon’s mentoring programs will provide valuable insight into the various career opportunities available in the golf industry.”
