TROON GOLF ADDS KEY STAFF TO SUPPORT OPERATIONS

Scottsdale, Arizona – Though 2001 has shown a slowing economy, especially in the golf and hospitality industries, Troon Golf, the world’s leading luxury golf management, development and marketing company, continues its forward drive by building and strengthening its organization to ensure the company’s high standards of products and services.

In response to the continued growth, Troon Golf has announced the addition of new personnel, reiterating the company’s sincere commitment to bring together the best people to create the best golf experiences for golfers worldwide.

Less than a year after joining the company, Darrell Morgan moves from Area Managing Director, Northern California to Troon Golf Vice President, North American Operations. Morgan has over 18 years experience, including 13 years with Marriott Golf, and is one of six regional Vice Presidents reporting to John Easterbrook, Jr., Executive Vice President, Operations.

Relocating from Scotland to assume duties as Troon Golf Director of Marketing, Rachel Williamson moves from her position as Director of Sales and Marketing for Starwood Hotels & Resorts – Scotland. Her properties included Turnberry Hotel, Golf Courses & Spa, A Westin Resort and the Sheraton Grand Hotel Edinburgh. In her new role, Williamson’s primary focus will be to oversee the marketing of the company’s international properties.

In the Australia/Pacific Division, Troon Golf welcomes Mark Holland as Operations Director. Mark brings an impressive work history, with a majority of his experiences in golf course management throughout the Southern Hemisphere. Mark’s background includes multiple stints in the role of General Manager. His clubs included the Tamam Dayu Club, Indonesia; Noosa Springs Country Club, Australia; The American Club, Singapore; and most recently at Abu Dhabi Golf Club by Sheraton located in the United Arab Emirates. In his new position Mark will oversee the daily operations of the facilities, manage transition activities for new properties, and recruit general managers for the Troon Golf team in Australia and surrounding countries.

John Gasper joins the Troon Golf agronomy team and brings a background based on quality educational and high status work experiences. John has been appointed as the Director of Agronomy – Japan Division. John received his Master of Science – Agronomy degree from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, and has held prominent positions as the Superintendent at Ridgewood Country Club, Paramus, New Jersey; Oak Hill Country Club, Rochester, New York; Oak Tree Country Club, Edmond, Oklahoma and recently with The Country Club of the Desert, La Quinta, California.

Jay McGrath has been hired as Vice President, Senior Corporate Counsel. McGrath brings an extensive background in business acquisition and real estate law. He attended the University of Kansas as an undergraduate and continued to pursue his law degree from the university’s School of Law. In his previous position with Foulston & Siefkin L.L.P. in Wichita, Kansas, he was involved with over 90 real estate transactions in 30 states for a well-known hotel chain.
