TRI-MOUNTAIN GOLF COURSE’S DIRECTOR OF INSTRUCTION MICHAEL PARKER NAMED TOP 50 OPERATION 36 INSTRUCTOR

Tri-Mountain Golf Course

Ridgefield, Wash. (January 4, 2022) – Tri-Mountain Golf Course’s Director of Instruction Michael Parker has been recognized as a 2021 Top 50 Instructor by Operation 36, a developmental program and technology to introduce and guide anyone in playing the game of golf. Since starting the Op 36 program at Tri-Mountain in early 2021, Parker has grown the instruction and development program from zero students to now more than 146 in the program.

The Operation 36 Top 50 Golf Coach list is the only one of its kind that uses quantitative measures to determine who is making the biggest impact on golf through their program. A key component of Operation 36 Golf Program is the ability to measure progress for the golfer’s journey. Golf coaches are evaluated by their use of formal golf matches throughout the year, application of the Operation 36 curriculum, assessing golfer’s progress throughout the season, and the use of online social tools to encourage more practice and play.

“Our intention when creating this award was to be able to show families which coaches and teams are going ‘Above and Beyond’ every day for their golfers,” said Ryan Dailey, PGA, COO and Co-Founder, Operation 36. “Congratulations to Michael and the entire Tri-Mountain team for offering an exceptional program that we call a ‘Top 50 Experience.’”

Parker has been the Director of Instruction at Tri-Mountain since January of 2020 and concurrently serves as the Head Golf Coach at La Center High School in La Center, Wash. In addition to the Op36 teaching program targeted toward beginning golfers, Parker is also PGA Junior League Coach and a US Kids Tour Coordinator. His teaching philosophy is focused on working through relationships to achieve the goals of the student using strategies and methods that allow the student’s unique swing develop and optimally perform.

“Michael is an extremely fun, engaging, and exuberant coach,” said Tri-Mountain Golf Course General Manager Brian Michaud. “His patience with all students allows for optimal growth, but most specifically with children and those brand new to the game. Michael has done an amazing job growing the instructional program, developing as a more experienced instructor, and growing the game through a culture of inclusion. We are grateful for everything Michael brings to the team here at Tri-Mountain.”

Tri-Mountain Golf Course is located 20 minutes north of Portland at the base of a valley and surrounded by Mount St. Helens, Mount Adams and Mount Hood. The Bill Robinson-designed course plays to a par of 72 and measures 6,600 yards from the championship tees. The practice facility at Tri-Mountain includes a driving range, 9-hole putting course, two chipping areas with a bunker, and two putting greens.
