THE MONTGOMERIE DUBAI TAKES HOME GOLD AT THE MENA TRAVEL AWARDS
Scottsdale, Ariz. – Further affirming its worldwide presence and ever-growing reputation for golfing excellence, Troon Golf,® the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing is thrilled to announce that The Montgomerie Dubai was recognized with the Gold award for Best Golf Club at the Middle East & North Africa Travel Awards (MENA Travel Awards). The “Spirit of Hospitality Awards” were handed out on May 5th at the Al-Bustan Rotana Hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
In being honored with this award, The Montgomerie Dubai received over 300 votes from travel trade professionals and frequent guests. The gold award supersedes the sliver award achieved in 2004 and is indicative of The Montgomerie Dubai’s ever growing reputation for golfing excellence in the region. This annual award acknowledges excellence in facility management, customer service and creativity within 18 tourism industry sectors. CHA International (Consultants of Hospitality Administration out of Egypt) administers the awards program and the voting process is audited by PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Covering over 200 acres of landscaped setting, this spectacular 6682 yard, par 72 course features 79 bunkers, water features and some exclusive characteristics including the world’s largest green. The Colin Montgomerie-designed course provides the player with undulating “links land” style fairways, which challenge and intrigue all levels of player. The par three 13th, boasts the largest single green in the world, with a total area of 58,000 sq feet – the equivalent of nine greens or 79 bunkers.
The clubhouse/hotel, which is slated for completion mid 2005 will feature 18 deluxe rooms, golf shop, full-service locker rooms, gymnasium, massage rooms, plunge and swimming pool, cigar/snooker room, juice bar and will be home to the Brasserie Restaurant. The Academy Building, which has offered full-services since the club’s opening in 2002, features the Academy Restaurant and bar, golf shop, teaching rooms and full service men’s and women’s locker rooms.
