Over 50 Ladies Join the Girls Go Golf Event at Madinaty Golf Club in Egypt!
Madinaty Golf Club has launched a fantastic program to #GrowTheGame in Egypt amongst local female golfers, with the Girls Go Golf events.
Two different events will run on the last Wednesday of every month, offering both new golfers, those wishing to try out the game, and more accomplished players a space to play, practice and socialize with fellow female golfers. And the first event drew in over 50 participants!
The day started with a delicious breakfast and then the more accomplished golfers headed out to the course for the Jade Tournament; 18 holes of golf on the fantastic Madinaty Golf Course. Whilst the beginners enjoyed a group clinic with Madinaty Golf Club’s experienced and qualified teaching professionals, Josh North and Magdy Abdel Aziz, learning some basics including both long and short game skills and a fun putting competition to close out the 3-hour tuition session.
Josh North, General Manager at Madinaty Golf Club has vast coaching experience across Troon Facilities in the Middle East and Asia and leads the team in this initiative to #GrowTheGame locally.
Magdy Abdel Aziz is the Teaching Professional at Madinaty Golf Club and uses his experience from across Egypt to break down the complexities of the game in an easy and fun format.
When asked why they attended, some of the participants said they lived nearby and wanted to try out a new sport, “It’s a fantastic new sport to change up my daily routine” commented Christina. Whilst Catharine, a local resident said, “I always lived near the golf course and wanted to experience the game.”
Rana was thrilled with the day and the chance to experience the fantastic Madinaty Golf Club, saying, “Thank you so much for this day. It was lovely to meet new people and learn a new sport. Also, the food was yummy and the service from the team at Madinaty Golf Club was excellent.”
The Girls Go Golf initiative is running alongside the 18-hole Jade Tournament with the aim of encouraging beginner golfers to continue their tuition and join the tournaments in the future, further growing participation in the game in the region.
