Meet The Family: The Bell Family from Pacific Harbour Golf & Country Club
In celebration of Troon Family Golf Month, we asked some families from Troon golf courses around the world to share their story; how they got into golf, how their family started playing golf and their most memorable moments on the golf course. Meet Stuart Bell and his family, wife Sam, and son’s Elliot and Dexter from Pacific Harbour Golf & Country Club.
How did you get into golf?
I started playing golf as a youngster at a golf clinic for kids, in the UK
How did you introduce your family to golf?
Our youngest child, Elliot, was desperate to copy Dad on the driving range and aged just 3, turned out to be a natural (and a lefty!). Golf lessons quickly followed, then our eldest son joined in. Mum Sam promised to learn golf in exchange for Stuart learning to dance!
Tell us about your local Troon club and why you like it visiting there as a family?
Pacific Harbour Golf & Country Club is one of the most beautiful places to visit – the course is spectacular and a warm welcome always awaits us in the clubhouse. For us, it’s the perfect way to spend quality time together. Even if we only have time to visit the driving range, it’s a great way to get everyone outdoors (and away from screens!) followed by food and drinks in the club.
What’s your favourite family memory on the golf course?
We won the family fun day and were rewarded with a lovely set of hats! It was really great fun to take part and the kids had a blast!
What is one golf club on your family’s bucket list to play at that you have not played yet?
Stuart has always wanted to play the Belfry but for the whole family, we’d love to combine a vacation to Florida with some golf at Jacksonville!
