Meet Harry Reuter
Indian wells Golf Resort’s new Director of Banquets will oversee a variety of events inside the new Pavilion
With more than three decades of experience, Harry Reuter brings a wealth of knowledge to his new position as Director of Banquets at Indian Wells Golf Resort.
Reuter, who was hired in early October, is responsible for the overall banquet operations, from social events and business meetings to breakfast, lunch and dinner gatherings, as well as weddings.
“Almost all of these events take place in the Pavilion across the bridge from the clubhouse,” Reuter said. “It’s really quite a venue.”
We caught up with the property’s newest hire recently for a brief get-to-know interview…
What experience do you bring with you to your new role at Indian Wells? I have more than 30 years of experience from the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco – where I started my career – to most recently the Miramonte Resort and Spa right here in Indian Wells.
What are you looking forward to most about your new position? Being in this environment doing what I enjoy and doing it really well.
What is your greatest strength on the job? That would have to be my organizational skills.
What one word would you use to describe yourself? Driven!
What might someone be surprised to know about you? Well, there are not too many surprising things about me. I am one of those “what you see if what you get” people.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working? I enjoy playing golf, I’m a big fan of all Philadelphia sports teams and I enjoy taking in a great dinner when I have the time.
what words or phrase do you most overuse? Lately, it’s been “efficient.” I’ve really been driving that one home recently.
What do you consider your greatest achievement? I guess my greatest achievement in this field prior to Indian Wells Golf Resort was helping to transform the banquet space or a circa-1920’s hotel on the beach in New Jersey into a premier wedding destination about 12 years ago.
