Allegria vs Madinaty – The Inaugural Egypt Troon Cup is On!
The countdown has begun to the inaugural Egypt Troon Cup with teams from The Allegria and Madinaty Golf Club, two flagship properties managed and operated by Troon going head to head in this first-of-its-kind event in Egypt.
The tournament marks the first of many planned events between the two golf clubs, with these friendly competitions designed to showcase the fantastic facilities and service at these two Troon-managed properties. Madinaty Golf Club is a spectacular Robert Trent Jones course and The Allegria is a Greg Norman signature course.
The tournament will be played in a match-play format, with 20 members representing each club in a Ryder Cup style with the inaugural event coinciding with the opening day of the Ryder Cup which is held over the same weekend.
The event this year will be hosted by The Allegria and in the future, will alternate between both clubs on an annual basis. Josh North, General Manager of Madinaty Golf Club commented, “All of us at Madinaty Golf Club are extremely excited about the event. It is great to see two Troon-managed golf clubs come together and put on unique events like this for the membership. I really look forward to seeing some friendly rivalry on and off the golf course and I think that whoever takes home the cup in the first event, that it is a great opportunity to showcase this special relationship between both clubs.”
Players from both sides are eagerly anticipating the event on Friday 24th September. Madinaty Golf Club which opened in late 2020, goes up against a very established Allegria side, however, with the players equally balanced it looks like an event that will ignite the imagination for members of both clubs and within the very active Egyptian golf scene.
