Steve Leon Named General Manager of Poston Butte Golf Club
Troon is proud to announce that Steve Leon has been appointed general manager of Poston Butte Golf Club in Florence, Ariz. Leon will lead and direct all elements of the club from golf operations, agronomy, and sales/marketing to food & beverage operations.
Leon, a Class A member of the PGA of America, has more than 17 years of golf and restaurant management experience. Leon comes to Poston Butte from Troon North Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. where he most recently served as director of golf. During his seven years at Troon North, Leon worked his way from assistant golf professional (2011-2012) to tournament coordinator and sales manager (2012-2014) to head golf professional (2014-2016) to director of golf (2016-2017). Prior to Troon North, Leon served in various golf professional and sales roles at three high-profile clubs, including Lost Canyons Golf Club in Simi Valley, Calif., Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Doral, Fla. and Wailea Golf Club in Wailea, Hawaii.

At Poston Butte Golf Club, Leon replaces Josh Clay who is relocating to the new Kissing Tree Golf Club, a fellow Troon-managed facility in San Marcos, Texas scheduled to open in 2018. Poston Butte Golf Club features an 18-hole Gary Panks-designed golf course and the anthem Grille, a Golf Inc. Magazine Golden Fork award recipient which recognizes the golf industry’s top dining facilities.
