Team Troon On Tour: Woodland and Thomas Finish Low Team Troon At The Players

PGA TOUR-The Players Championship

What was another great week on tour as the PGA traveled to TPC Sawgrass to take on the  #17 and last week it was the first time in history that the hole saw two aces during a Players Championship. Five of our Team Troon members were in the field and low Team Troon members were Gary Woodland and Justin Thomas. Gary Woodland was able to birdie the dramatic #17 two of his four rounds en route. Justin Thomas holed out on his second shot during the 3rd round from the fairway on 18 (that captured some additional Social Media attention). Both Team members scored consistent all week (and are gearing up for in a couple weeks for the first major of the year). Complete round by round totals for the low Team Troon players were as follows:

  • T54 Gary Woodland: 72-70-71-74 = 287 / -1
  • T60 Justin Thomas: 73-73-71-71 = 288 / E

COMING UP

PGA TOUR – Valspar  Championship

While March Madness begins, the PGA TOUR  continues its Florida Swing as they move from Ponte Verde to the Tampa area for the Valspar Championship. We have three PGA TOUR Team Troon members are in the field including Justin Thomas, Matt Fitzpatrick and Gary Woodland. After round one, Justin Thomas is in the hunt following a -2 under first round (three back of the -5 lead) Go JT! Go Gary! Go Matt!

LPGA / EPSON TOUR

The LPGA TOUR is on an off week this week, but best of luck to our colleagues at Longbow Golf Club who are hosting many LPGA players and the “next gen” of LPGA Tour for the Epson Tour Carlisle Arizona Women’s Classic. Be sure to follow @LongbowGolfClub and @Troon social handles to keep up with the action.
