2009 Troon Challenge Makes Its First Stop In Florida
The first Florida regional qualifier for the 2009 Troon Challenge took place last weekend with another great turnout. Held at Harmony Golf Preserve in Harmony Fla. on May 16, the event saw 30 teams competing for a chance to play in the finals at Troon North Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Father and son duo Matthew and Danny Lefor won the Gross Division with a low score of 65. William Cornelius and Thomas Bell matched the same score to win the Net Division and advanced to the finals, which will be held August 29-30, 2009.
With 12 more regional competitions on the schedule, there are plenty of opportunities to compete in the Troon Challenge at several of the finest courses in the country. The next event will return to Arizona at the Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear on May 24, followed by an event at Talking Stick Golf Club in Scottsdale on June 7. The Troon Challenge will return to Florida one more time before moving on to Nevada, California and Texas.
